Paperless Bills

I have noticed that banks and other companies are going green by using estatements. It is a very good idea if you are trying to go green to turn to paperless bills. Honestly, paperless bills make life a lot easier, at least it is for me.

Lesson That Can Be Learned

The little time that I have spent creating this blog I have realized there are many valuable lessons that can be taught not only to ourselves but to our kids. If we start now and raise our kids we will instill in them the foundation needed to turn this country around and protect our enviroment. Going Green needs to start in the homes of all U.S. citzens. Our country is the big brother to all other countries and if we will start and show the rest of the world, they will follow as well.

Recycling Centers

My wife and I spent a year in Oregon going to school. One thing that I noticed the most was all the recycling centers at every grocery store. They were set up so you could receive money for cans, glass, paper, etc. Recyclingsupercite.com is a site where you can recycle all different types of electronic equipment.

My father taught me a good lesson growing up. My family and I are avid Coke drinkers. After each Coke we finished we took it to the black sack on the back porch. Every other month we would take the aluminum cans to the recycling center to get money. My brothers and I all learned a valuable lesson on recycling and saving money.

Benefits of Green Batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable batteries mostly used for consumer electronics. These batteries are long lasting and do not have to be thrown away like regular batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries are low-maintenance. No priming is necessary for a new battery. They retain their charge for a longer time than other rechargeable batteries. With lithium-ion batteries no memory effect occurs as in nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. So, the user does not have to completely use up the battery before recharge. Their charge is retained even after a consumer stores the battery for months.
These in my opinion are the only way I will go with batteries from now on. They are definitely more practical than going out and buying tons of the typical non-chargeable batteries, and throwing them away after they die out.

Is There an Energy Star Label on Your Appliances

Lately I have been seeing labels on all new appliances I have purchased lately. Heck, the government even gave reimbursement back to people that could show the disposal of old appliances with new energy star ones. Energy star appliances will save at least a couple hundred dollars a year if used. Many people don't think that a couple hundred dollars is a whole lot of money. When you put it in terms like, it is paying for a few cable bills, a couple new pair of shoes, a few phone bills then it makes more sense to use energy star when those monthly bill come around.

Baby Products

I came across babyorganic.com while doing research for our new little girl that is on the way. What a great website that goes right along with going green. I am expanding my knowledge everyday about new ways of going green. Now I have ways to think about going green concerning the new baby on the way. Earlier I talked about Wal-Mart going green with there platic sacks, but could you imagine if diapers were required to be 100% biodegradable. I think eventually the federal government will step in and make it required that all products are biodegradable.

Bio Bags

Can someone sell these to Wal-Mart? Every time I go to Wal-Mart I don't leave that place without 5 0r 6 bags in my hand. I wonder how many bags they go through a day.

Bio Bags are a high quality 100% biodegradable. All the bags will compost once in soil in approximately 45 days but when stored in a cool dry place, have a shelf life of two years.

This is a product that I believe could make such a differnce in our enviroment. Could you imagine if all stores were required to have these bags. Maybe one day!

If you are interested here is the website to check out how you can purchase the awesome bags.
